Who helped you cope with relocations and/or deployments?

My mom and one of my older sisters. I would just make a phone call. I was eighteen and it was my first time away from home.

What did you learn about yourself through your military experience?

I was pretty immature…the military got me to be more disciplined and detail-oriented.

We often hear after friends and family, a taste of home is what our servicemembers miss the most. What home-cooked meal did you crave when you were away?

Mom’s meatloaf. It reminds me of a Sunday evening, my family sitting around the table.
